Garmin route.

This ride is faster than our other rides and is meant to be a “go-to training ride”. We keep the pace high but try to de-emphasize surging; this is a training ride, not a road race. We may change the route last minute depending on conditions. We will regroup at critical points, but this is NOT a no-drop ride.

Sunday Funday! Registration
Apr 29 @ 5:45 pm – 8:00 pm
Sunday Funday! @ Bicycle Sport Shop, Parmer | Austin | Texas | United States
Come on out for a fast-paced tour of Brushy Creek Park in North Austin. This ride is not for beginners. This ride is for Intermediate and Advanced riders, or racers looking to get in some training miles. There is a bit of pedaling on pavement as a warm-up to the trail. Once on the trail, there is varying singletrack through the trees and on exposed ridges. This riding can be slightly technical, with a few logs and rocks throughout. Riders should have experience on a mountain bike and confident bike handling skills. There will be a few regroup spots after certain trailheads, but riders will be expected to keep pace and finish the sections before regrouping. Once finished with all the trail, we will ride back through the neighborhoods of Avery Ranch, and meet for drinks and food at Morelia Mexican Grill next door to the shop.

We recommend bringing safety lights for the sections riding on the road, to increase the visibility and overall safety of the group. You are responsible for your own nutrition and hydration. There will be a short bathroom break/water refill stop mid-ride. You are welcome to come hang post-ride with our ride leaders at Morelia Mexican Grill. Please bring ID and payment to cover your tab. There is an outdoor patio which offers a clear view of your bike parked next to our shop. Visit our Facebook page for updates the morning of the ride for concerns regarding weather.
* Distance: 17 mi
* Average Speed: 11 mph
* Average Time: 1hr 35 min

Intermediate Riders: I am comfortable riding varying and somewhat technical, single-track terrain. I will ride over small rocks, roots, and logs (think curb-sized obstacles) but don’t always know what I did to get through. I have fairly good control of my bike while climbing and descending.

Advanced Riders: I am comfortable riding over vary and technical single-track terrain. I will ride, or attempt to, over small to medium rocks, roots, and logs and down small to medium drops (think 6 in to 1.5 foot lifts and/or drops or several small ones in a row). I want to increase my confidence riding down larger drops and jumps to improve my wheel lifts and skills for getting up ledges and technical climbs.
Trails:
* Ankle Biter
* BCB Snow White
* Carcass Cafe
* Mulligan
* Rattlesnake Run
* BCB RJ
* Picnic X

Thank you, and we look forward to riding with you!
